I have recently joined, as an Assistant Professor, the Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering at the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU).

My research work generally focuses on the areas related to control and autonomy. Current interests include adaptive control, control & optimization, robotics & autonomous systems, and the intersection between learning & control.

I completed my PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Miller. Previously, I have held postdoctoral appointments in KAUST working with Prof. Eric Feron, and worked as a R&D engineer with Baker Hughes. I received both my BSc and MSc degrees from KFUPM.

My academic ‘family’ tree says that ibn Sina and Isaac Newton may be among my academic ancestors! (based on data from the Mathematics Genealogy Project)
